Fees and sliding scale
Sessions are 60 minutes. I work on a sliding scale, which means there's a range of rates and you choose the one that fits your situation.
The scale works because it's a shared arrangement. Sessions at the higher rates are what make the lower ones possible, so when you choose your rate honestly, someone else gets access they wouldn't otherwise have. It only works if people are straight about where they land.
Choosing your rate
Look at more than your paycheck. Debt, dependents, medical costs, and whether there's family money behind you if things go wrong. Two people with the same income can be in very different situations, and someone with a safety net is not in the same position as someone without one.
| Annual income | Rate (60 min) |
|---|---|
| Under $25,000 | $100 |
| $25,000–$35,000 | $115 |
| $35,000–$45,000 | $140 |
| $45,000–$60,000 | $175 |
| $60,000–$85,000 | $210 |
| $85,000–$130,000 | $250 |
| $130,000+ | $275 |
Reduced-fee spots are limited and depend on availability. If you're not sure where you land, bring it to the consultation and we'll work it out.
If money is going to be a strain, I'd rather know at the start than have it become the reason we stop. It's a fair thing to talk about directly, and we can.
Relationship sessions
Sessions with partners run the same length and use the same scale, whether there are two of you or more. Decide together which rate fits your situation. There's no per-person charge and no surcharge for the shape of your relationship.
Payment and insurance
I'm private pay only. I don't bill insurance and I don't provide superbills.
That's a deliberate choice. Insurance requires a diagnosis, and it gives the insurer a say in how long we work and on what. Private pay means the work stays between us. We go at your pace, on what matters to you, and your records stay yours.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept credit cards, HSA, and FSA.
Good Faith Estimate
Because I don't bill insurance, you're entitled under the No Surprises Act to a written estimate of what your care is expected to cost before we begin. I'll give you one when we start, and you can ask for an updated estimate at any point. If your final bill comes in $400 or more above the estimate, you have the right to dispute it.
The first step is a conversation.
The first step is a 30-minute consultation, $25, credited toward your first session if we go ahead. A chance to get a feel for each other and whether this is a good fit.
